At every Sunday Mass, Catholics confess that Jesus came down from heaven "for us men and for our salvation." But what does "salvation" mean? In this video series, Scripture scholar and theologian Michael Patrick Barber provides a thorough, deeply Catholic, and deeply biblical, answer. Save The Date - 40 Hours Devotion
October 3-4-5, 2024
St. Margaret Mary Parish
A very special event, 40 Hours Devotion, is coming to St. Margaret Mary Church on October 3, 4, 5, 2024, and we invite all to participate. All four parishes and beyond are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Bishop William J. Waltersheid, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, will be the guest homilist for liturgies on all three days. The 40 Hours will close with 4:00 pm Mass on Saturday followed by a catered dinner at St. Margaret Mary.
Bishop Waltersheid will be bringing with him a first class relic of Bl. Carlo Acutis. You may have heard that Pope Francis recently cleared the way for the Canonization of Blessed Carlo! In Blessed Carlo Acutis’ short life (he died at the age of 15), he was devoted to the Holy Eucharist, attended daily Mass and documented over 187 Eucharistic miracles. We are pleased to announce that this Eucharistic Miracles display will be available in the Narthex during the 40 Hours and on Sunday, October 6.
More information on 40 Hours Devotion will be forthcoming, as well as more information on Solemn Vespers, Eucharistic Miracles, Blessed Carlo and relics in upcoming Catechesis Corners.
This can be a life changing event! Please come and be a part of it. Stay tuned for more information on how you can get the most out of these three days. Mark your calendar now and invite your friends, family members, neighbors and those who are searching for God.
Please know that you do not have to be a registered adorer to take part in Eucharistic Adoration throughout the day. Everyone from all parishes are welcome to come and pray before our Lord.
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Are you or someone you know interested in becoming Catholic?
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the process through which those who are not baptized are able to become members of the Catholic Church and baptized Christians can receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Holy Communion and Confirmation).
This process includes times of study, prayer, and Rites that take place at Mass. Formation sessions will begin in mid-September.
If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Timothy Ruflin in the parish office to find out more and to set up a meeting.
